Yesterday I joined Emily & Jon for their wedding photography at The Mansion in Roundhay Park, in North Leeds!
This darling couple met while doing their PhDs in ‘baby making’, apparently, and share a love of all things The Lord of the Rings. Jon even proposed on the slopes of Mount Doom (Mount Ngauruhoe) on a tour of New Zealand’s film locations. Thankfully, Emily didn’t throw the ring into the fiery volcano!
To drive the theme home, bridesmaid Hannah creatively made the best ‘ring box’ I’ve ever seen – a giant copy of The Fellowship of the Ring, with a hole carved inside to hide the precious rings! Love it.
Emily’s family are also big runners, and with such an early ceremony, her dad was gutted not to be able to run the Roundhay Park parkrun happening just outside The Mansion, so I popped down to get a few pics of it to set the scene!
The Mansion in Leeds is a fabulous 1820s Regency Grade II listed building, with unrivalled views overlooking stunning Roundhay Park!
I joined Emily and her bevvy of eight bridesmaids & a flower girl at The Mansion Leeds for their preparations, before heading downstairs for a few pics of Jon and his groomsmen and ‘groomsgals’! Once Emily was in her lovely gown, complete with beautiful blue patterning, and after a lovely father-daughter reveal, we headed down the aisle.
A charming ceremony later, including music from The Lord of the Rings, we headed out through a hail of confetti for a lovely afternoon reception. This included a spontaneous jump on a bouncy castle set up for a charity event in Roundhay Park next door!
Everything went as smoothly as you’d expect from Liam and his crew at The Mansion. After a delicious dinner by Dine Catering, it was suddenly time to cut their tower of cheese and kick off the ceilidh chaos…

I love doing Wedding Photography in Yorkshire, and I always love shooting weddings at The Mansion Leeds. I grew up down the road from Roundhay Park, so photographing weddings here brings back such fond memories!
The Mansion is such a brilliant setting for wedding photography in Leeds, with its elegant Regency architecture, lovely gardens and those fantastic views across Roundhay Park. It’s also a great spot for relaxed, fun wedding photography, as Emily and Jon’s day proved!
