Middleton Lodge is one of my favourite Yorkshire wedding venues – a stunning hotel, restaurant and venue set in 200 acres of rural North Yorkshire, seamlessly blending the modern and the timeless, on the fringe of the Yorkshire Dales! I love shooting weddings in the Old House and the Walled Gardens (see recent posts there at the end), and both offer a perfect wedding background.
Set in private gardens (and still partially lived in as a private home), the Main House has several grand reception rooms and 16 bedrooms, and makes for a truly lovely setting for a bespoke wedding.
The Oak room and grand bedrooms, as well as their newly established Coach House are a lovely place to photograph the morning preparations
Within the estate, they’ve now got two separate areas in which to host weddings; the Georgian Country Mansion – with ceremonies outside on the lawn, in the Grand Hall or in the Drawing Room – and their stunning new Fig House venue!
I do enjoy their ceremonies in the grand old Hall though.
…and after the ceremony, it’s great to get outside and enjoy the sunshine!
After a blast of confetti!
The acres of woodland and paths make for a perfect place for relaxed and romantic portraits…
It’s so important to me that my couples have a fab experience with me, and these reviews from real couples on Google and Facebook are great to read, straight from the horse’s mouth:
As well as my fun, signature groupshots!
I’ve photographed the wedding breakfast meals in the marquee and around the hall, depending on the size of the weddings.
Then when it’s time for the first dance and to hot up the dance floor, the evening party can be either in the Marquee or in the grand staircase (and an afterparty in the vaults below!).
Then before I hit the road, it’s always nice to get a few final flash portraits of the couple, even if it’s a bit rainy outside…
Choosing the right photographer for your wedding starts with understanding your own style and vision. Whether you’re dreaming of a lavish event at a historic venue or a quaint ceremony in the Yorkshire countryside, the style of your wedding should resonate with the photographer’s approach. Here’s my advice to couples before making such an important decision:
Remember that while budget is an important factor, the value of timeless memories captured beautifully shouldn’t be underestimated. As much as selecting an amazing venue, amazing wedding photography is an investment in preserving your memories of your special day for years to come…
