Last Saturday myself and my wingman Tim joined Amanda + Gareth for their gorgeous wedding at the Walled Garden Marquee, in the grounds of Temple Newsham on the outskirts of Leeds in West Yorkshire!
It was such a lovely day, in spite of ‘British Summer’ weather! After relaxed bridal preparations at their lovely home in Sherbern In Elmet, and chilled preps in Colton with Groomsmen and their lhasa apso ‘Monty’, they decided to perceiver in the drizzle and still have their wedding blessing outside under a beautiful floral arch (and under umbrellas)! I also somehow managed to fail with Satnav, and arrive a few minutes after the bride, only to find both entrances into the walled gardens padlocked, and have to scale a 12ft gate to get in!
The drizzle subsided and the show went on – and we got a great set of pics as the guests enjoyed Aperol Spriz cocktails and delicious grub by the amazing Hog + Apple caterers. The evening saw a hilarious caricaturist draw attention to everyone’s features, and it was lovely to get chance to catch up with not one but two couples who’s weddings I’ve also photographed. And as these guys weren’t into the usual formalities – no official speeches, cake cut or first dance – we got a few extra evening portraits by the lovely lake in Temple Newsham before leaving the gang to get down and enjoy the DJ!

So apart from mother nature and a 12 ft locked gate trying to thwart the day, it all turned out to be quite the perfect day!
