Yesterday I joined Emily + Phillip, to capture their wedding photos at Goldsborough Hall, a fab stately home wedding venue between Harrogate & Knaresborough in Yorkshire.
Now it’s been a funny year, with this Covid 19 pandemic wotnot, and these guys initially postponed their summer ’20 wedding to Spring ’21, but as that hung in question, decided to crack on and tie the knot now instead! Emily & Phill (and many of their guests) are doctors and have spent this year on the front line, PPE’d up to the max, so weren’t super jazzed about a day in masks! So hiring the Hall exclusively and everyone taking CV19 tests meant they and their 15 guests could relax mask free and even get a big huggy! So in many respects, it ended up looking just like a lovely, ‘normal’ intimate wedding (and being in December, even threw in a ‘normal’ dodgy forecast too!).
The day went off without a hitch, the weather didn’t hold, and everyone had a fabulous day all round! Goldsborough Hall is always a lovely venue to shoot at, and decked up Christmas with roaring fires only added to the cosy vibes for this special winter day!
I’ve hardly had chance to really shoot many weddings this year, so it was as special for me too, being able to get creative again! So a big thank you to Em & Phill for letting me into their special day and for being troopers, braving the damp foggy conditions outside!
