A few weeks back I joined the lovely Amy & Mark for their prewedding shoot at The Inn at Whitewell, over in Lancashire.
It’s an infamously amazing gastropub, specialising in locally sourced grub, so I headed over with the misses, as we’ve always wanted to eat there!
Two birds, one stone and all that…
The sun was out and the rolling hills of lancashire looked stunning.
It’s a wonderfully characterful rural Inn dating as far back as the 1300’s, and we were lucky enough to photographed a wedding there in 2010 (check the highlights here)
Inside are loads of bright, comfortable pub rooms, and corridors bedecked with old tennis racquets, fishing rods & stuffed foxes!
This is where afternoon receptions are generally held, overlooking the river and hills.
Last time, the ceremony was up in Lancaster, and the wedding party drove down through The Trough of Bowland – possibly one of the most beautiful drives I’ve ever taken in the UK. But Amy & Mark are hosting their ceremony literally round the corner, in the adjoining Parish Church of St Michael.
After a seriously good feed over lunch, I met Amy & Mark for a good catch up on the days timings and logistics, then we headed out for the practice portrait shoot…
… kicking off at the stepping stones
They’re so lovely together!
Mark’s really into photography too (which always helps get a groom on board!), so we had little geek during the shoot!
The sun was so bright that we headed into the woods for a bit of a cuddle in the shade of some tall trees
I met these two at a wedding I photographed for their pals Beckie & Joe at Wortley Hall in Sheffield (blog here)
I like these two images! Always nice to photograph a happy couple in love!
On the way back this field overflowing with daffodils caught my eye!
And round the back of the hotel, I liked the look of this rusty container. Not the usual spot for romantic portraits, but I love a full, textured background.
I’m really looking forward to joining these guys in a few weeks!
Watch this space for Amy & Mark’s wedding highlights blog, the day after their wedding!
