Wedding photos at The Pheasant, Harome in North Yorkshire: Katie & Denzil

Last Saturday I joined Katie & Denzil for their fun, tractor-themed country wedding at St Mary’s Church in Kilburn and The Pheasant Hotel near Helmsley in North Yorkshire!

The Pheasant in Harome (along with the Star Inn) is well known for its amazing Yorkshire gastro-pub hospitality and wedding food!

Within eyeshot of the ancient White Horse of Sutton Bank, I shuttled between Team Bride (at her sister’s lovely home) and Team Groom (on their farm with their giddy spaniels), papping their relaxed preparations. Once Katie was in her stunning split gown, we headed through the stunning countryside to the friendly village church that was so special to Katie’s recently departed mum.

Katie & her dad arrived on a friend’s amazing Clydesdale horse-pulled cart! These guys are also clearly vintage tractor nuts (they take their classic Field Marshall tractor to shows). After a lovely ceremony by Rev. Nigel, we threw confetti (and coins for the local kids, so they could cut their way through the tied-up church gates!) and headed off in the ‘Squishy’ carriage behind their beloved tractor.

Clydesdale horse-pulled carts and vintage tractors are the perfect way to ‘countrify’ a fun Yorkshire wedding!

As it’d have taken about 2 weeks to cover the distance in their traction engine, the newlyweds arrived by the Harome duck pond in their Case International tractor instead (complete with wedding horn and bunting)! Guests mingled with the happy couple on the sunny terrace, as the Pheasant laid on delicious canapés and fizz.

Wedding breakfast tables were named after tractors, and the dining room looked fab for fun speeches and a delicious meal. Before we knew it, evening guests had packed the bar out and it was time to cut the cake and hit the dancefloor. But before they set the tone on the dancefloor, Denz surprised Katie with a song he’d had commissioned! Then the dancefloor lit up and everyone got stuck in!

You wouldn’t think these guys had been together 26 years by how tender and lovely they are together! It was so lovely to see them celebrating with their two lovely kids and family.

You also couldn’t ask for more from a perfect late summer Yorkshire wedding! Big credit as always to Nicola, Liam and the team there for being so much fun to work with.
