Yesterday I joined Rachel + Jonny for their relaxed wedding photography at The Pheasant Hotel in Harome, near Helmsley in North Yorkshire!
Testament to the fact that you can organise an amazing wedding in a matter of months!
Sadly, a family member’s declining health required Rachel & Jonny to organise their wedding with haste, but the team at the Pheasant (and an army of brilliant Bridesmaids) put together a stunning day to remember! It was one of those sunny Springy days with new daffodils standing proud under a deep blue sky that signals the end of winter. Photographing excitable Netball and Cricket pals and generations of family congratulating this happy couple on the sunny terrace, as the Pheasant laid on delicious canapés and fizz, it was a perfect celebration.
During the morning preparations, I bounced between Rachel – getting ready in the Pheasant suite with squad – and Jonny – who suited up with his chaps on the terrace, and before we knew it it was time for the ceremony in the Conservatory. This line in one of the readings stuck out to me:
“I thought about that smile, then realised it’s worth, a single smile just like mine, could travel round the Earth.”
Smiles were certainly being passed around all day, and once they’d sealed the deal with a kiss, and hugs had been hugged, we huddled up for a my signature ‘confetti bomb’, a quick group pics and a quick round of portraits. We we done in plenty of time for them to natter with their near and dear, while Alfie the family labradoodle worked the crowd for tummy rubs in his Tuxedo collar!

After speeches, the Pheasant did what they do best: delicious dinner! Oh man, their Beef Cheek blows minds!
Once evening guests had arrived (and a fun pic of the Netball squad in bibs had been done!) we cut the incredible wedding cake (hard to believe it was made by one of the bridesmaids, it looked so profesh!) and we hit the dancefloor to ‘Steal The Show’ (from the movie “Elemental”), before everyone piled on a set the floor alight!
You really couldn’t ask for more from a perfect Yorkshire wedding in Spring! Big credit to Nicola, Liam and the team there for being so much fun to work with, as always! This sixteen-bedroomed Country Hotel is just the perfect spot for an intimate wedding like this. Plus it’s dog friendly too, so their pooch Freya was waiting for them in the room when the day was done!
