Yesterday I joined Dan & Lee to photograph their gay wedding at The Black Swan in Helmsley, over the North Yorkshire Moors.
It was a wonderfully relaxed affair, hardly following any traditional wedding conventions. They got ready together, there were no official bridesmaids or groomsmen, we took a wee stroll around Helmsley for a few portraits before they joined their near and dear in the bar for drinks before the ceremony. It all ended up being a day where they spent maximum time hanging out with their friends and family! The ceremony itself was lovely, with some fun readings of song lyrics by their pals (two of which feature in the slideshow below). It was also a bizarrely warm day for so late in December, and we even managed to get everyone out onto the lawn outside for a teamshot and groups. Then it was all about eating the good food supplied by The Black Swan, and drinking till the folky band got rolling!
Happy days – I hope you enjoy their wedding story!
Fun times hey? Here’s wishing Lee + Dan a lifetime of happiness as husbands!
Congratulations chaps!
