Simone & Stu // Pre-Wedding Photos at The Foundry, Leeds [by Barnaby Aldrick Wedding Photography]

This morning I joined Simone & Stu, old buddies of mine, for their pre-wedding practice shoot ahead of their wedding this Saturday! After their wedding ceremony at Leeds Town Hall they’re hosting their reception celebrations at The Foundry Wine Bar, near Bridgewater place on the edge of town. I love it round this industrial area of Leeds […]

Yesterday joined Emily & Owain at East Riddlesden Yesterday joined Emily & Owain at East Riddlesden Hall near Keighley in West Yorkshire!

This lovely pair actually married almost a year ago and this is third of their glob-trotting wedding celebrations! Emily has Canadian / Chinese roots and Owain has Welsh / Scottish heritage, so various cultural traditions were integrated! They started with The Greeting in red Chinese outfits, before slipping into white dress and tartan kilt. Plus Scottish Tablet cake was brought by guests - made almost entirely of sugar - to keep energy levels up for the evening’s dancing!

The stars of the show were their nearly 1 year old wee lad Berwyn - who spent the day merrily being passed around in his mini kilt getup (fortunately with nappy and not True Scott) - and Dad’s cute pooch Maxi, who took the cuddles and abuse from the kids in their stride.

A relaxed affair, most traditions were dropped, and we did family and couple pics pre-ceremony. The blessing itself was hosted by the groom’s brother David, where 6 pals were invited up to offer fun speeches about the happy couple. After the confetti tunnel there was a lovely long afternoon of refreshment from at funky cocktail and global nibbly stands. Speeches were dropped for off the quick cuff thank yous, before everyone settled along long social tables for a delicious carve your own roast Welsh lamb and a mezze feast from Nomad Catering!

Their mountain cake was cut for dessert and instead of a first dance then the Ceilidh band spun guests into coupley spirals and do-si-do carnage! The weather had loomed ominously all day, but thankfully held when we needed it to, and before I hit the road I took advantage of drizzle for a few funky quick back-flash snogs in the rain!

So here’s wishing the new Mr & Mrs Prys-Jones huge congratulations! Stay tuned for a full extended post on my blog soon (link in bio)

I give you Charlotte & Steve, another beauty of a I give you Charlotte & Steve, another beauty of a wedding at Goldsborough Hall near Knaresborough!

These lovebirds met at an IT company and kicked off their romance with a trip to an Oak furniture store and a trip to McDonalds! Their romance blossomed through the pandemic, engagement followed and following that, Charlotte went full steam at the wedding planning, to the point that she took a course in calligraphy to hand scribe the table place settings (and quite brilliantly done too!).

After a relaxed morning of preps in Harrogate and at the Hall, they held their gorgeous ceremony in the drawing room, and followed it with my signature ‘confetti bomb’ and a few groups on hall steps and pics around the kitchen gardens and grounds. It was great to see everyone enjoying a croquet-centric reception in the sun with fizz and canapés!

Not conforming with traditions, they did a single thank you speech before their roast dinner, then cut their stunning cake, and instead an ‘awkward first dance shuffle’ they convinced everyone to pile on together in a mass first dance (supported with full energy from their pal Craig!)

As a sunny afternoon turned overcast, hopes for golden hour sunset pics were dashed, but instead we captured a few cracking flash pics in the blue hour before I departed!

What a cracking day! Here’s wishing the new Mr + Mrs Westcott the huge congrats! I hope you all enjoy this ‘mini blog’ of teasers for now and stay tuned for a full extended post on my blog soon at: www.barnabyaldrick.com/bawp-blog/

Yesterday’s lovely couple were Lillian (@lill_i_ Yesterday’s lovely couple were Lillian (@lill_i_am_17) + Alan, who wed outside, under Yorkshire skies, at the beautiful Goldsborough Hall near Knaresborough!

This lovely pair met at Oxford uni and the wedding was a wonderful meeting of the clans from up and down the land. Alan’s Scottish lot sported an amazing array of kilts, complimenting Team Groom’s ace Ben Lomond Tartan and ace ‘flyplaid’ shoulder tartan. Team bride held up their side beautifully too, with Lillian in a stunning Adriana Alier gown with bridesmaids in powder blue!

After a fab outdoor ceremony, confetti tunnel and a quick group pics, the reception was a lovely relaxed affair, with endless fizz and canapés around the stunning floral backdrops of Goldsborough Hall. A quick round of couple pics in the Kitchen Garden, gazebo and through the woods, and it was time for hilarious speeches and a delicious beef dinner in Goldsborough’s Orangery!

Soon it was first dance time, followed by a fun dance routine from Team Bride and a huge knees up on the dance floor! These guys knew how to dance and were pogo-ing hard to Scottish anthems as we did a few final night flash pics!

Huge Congratulations to the new Mr + Mrs Barth! Enjoy this ‘mini blog’ of teasers for now and stay tuned for a full extended post on my blog later this week: www.barnabyaldrick.com/bawp-blog/

Hello! I realise I’m probably not showing my act Hello! I realise I’m probably not showing my actual face enough on here! So as last weekend’s wingman extraordinare Paul Stott papped these of me before diving into shoot the ceremony, I thought I’d reveal the mug behind the camera! 👋😉📷
Introducing the most excellent Emily + Josh, who I Introducing the most excellent Emily + Josh, who I joined for their sunny celebrations at Bunny Hill in Yorkshire yesterday!

This young couple met working together at Stockeld Park back in 2017, co-ordinating outdoor events and clearly fell deeply in love! They’ve since added Paddy the Cockerpoo to their fam.

Talking of family, it was fab to see so many of them again, as I’d papped Hannah & Jonny’s wedding 6 years ago too! And their daughter Poppy was front and centre as one of the loveliest flower girls I’ve ever photographed!

Some weddings just get you in the feels: that classic father daughter moment, compounded into tears when he delivered his speech, seeing this bubbly bride and her pals immediately dance anything Taylor Swift or Disney, seeing how lovely the newly weds were, in the moment all day long.

And with gorgeous weatehr by Mother Nature (plus golden hour in a cornfield!), the best food in the biz by Hog and Apple, and the perfect scene set by Emma + Charlotte at Bunny Hill, it genuinely was the perfect wedding!

Huge Congratulations to the new Mr + Mrs Dudley-Light! Enjoy this ‘mini blog’ of teasers for now and stay tuned for a full extended post on my blog later this week: www.barnabyaldrick.com/bawp-blog/

Here’s yesterday’s lovely couple Emma + Luke, Here’s yesterday’s lovely couple Emma + Luke, and their beautiful wedding at Priory Barn Cottages near Wetherby in Yorkshire!

This young couple met on Snapchat and were engaged within 6months! When you know you know… Then a bit of self taught bridal power tool DIY sign making later, all of a sudden it’s the wedding day!

What a lovely day it was too: Team bride kicked off at 5.15am to have everyone’s hair and makeup done to schedule, and I dipped between them and Team Groom in opposite cottages until the ceremony in the barn.

Once nuptials were signed and sealed, the couple were showered from above (in the signature Priory Barn Balcony confetti shot). Then we all enjoyed a relaxed, sunny afternoon reception on the terrace with fizz and Taste Cuisine nibbles.

Fun speeches and a delicious roast dinner later, the beautiful cake was cut, and - skipping a first dance - we all piled on the dance floor on mass to (IMO the ultimate wedding dance floor starter) Black Eyed Peas ‘I’ve Got A Feeling’. We left through a sparkler tunnel to a final few wheat field portraits. as the sun dropped beneath the horizon, and left the gang to party on!

What a day! Congratulations to the new Mr + Mrs Watts! Enjoy this ‘mini blog’ of teasers for now and stay tuned for a full extended post on my blog later this week: www.barnabyaldrick.com/bawp-blog/
