On Saturday it was an absolute pleasure to join Rachael + Robin for their gorgeous summer wedding photos at Goldsborough Hall, a stunning stately home wedding venue between Harrogate & Knaresborough, in God’s own glorious Yorkshire!
After setting the scene around Goldsborough Hall, I joined Rachael and her bridesmaids for their relaxed preps in the ‘Lascelles Suite’ (which not only sports an awesome sunken panoramic bath overlooking the grounds, but also its very own private cinema with a 150″ screen!). After an hour or so I slipped downstairs to join relaxed Robin and his dudes for suiting up pinning on their button holes.
These lovebirds did the legal bit in France so they could have a truly personalised ceremony for their big day at Goldsborough Hall. They booked the brilliant celebrant Mark Gregory to tell the story of their union and the full backstory of how these sweethearts met in Chamonix and bounced around the south of France together, falling ever more deeply in love.
A few other funky elements were incorporated, including a ‘warming of the rings’ and a ‘Sand Ceremony’ (where significant friends and family pour sand into one glass to symbolise the joining of their families). It was all rather lovely, and before we knew it, we were out in the blazing summer sun, receiving cuddles and congratulations.
A shower of confetti (from CONFETTI CANONS no less), a quick round of group pics and fun wedding party pics, and we were soon enjoying fine wines and nibbles in the afternoon sunshine!
As always, Melanie & the gang at Goldsborough delivered that perfect blend of homely and stately, only enhanced by a background of live piano covers.
Speeches were hilarious (always nice to hear from the bride too!), followed by a delicious meal and a novel ‘Wedding Shoe Quiz’, before heading back into the evening sun for more relaxing! Being this close to the summer solstice, it’s always hard to coax the gang inside for a first dance, but it was worth it, when the guests were treated to a full ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ style routine, with lifts and dips and the works!
