A week or two ago I joined Tracey & Chris for their sunny pre-wedding shoot in Leeds!
Although they’re getting married at the lovely Rudding Park near Harrogate, we met up at a place that’s special to them, around The Mansion in Roundhay Park.
We started our photographs around the hidden away Specialist Gardens, on the edge of the park, away from the public gaze!
I generally schedule these relaxed practice shoots a month or so ahead of a couple’s wedding, to show them how it feels to be photographed and to iron out any anxieties a couple might have about being photographed! Most people tell me at the start that they don’t like being photographed, so I use these shoots to show them a) I can make them look great b) it can be fun! The overall benefit of being practiced is that it makes the official big day portraits quicker and easier for all of us, meaning they can get back to the guests, fizz & canapés
Win win!
Around the specialist gardens is a fab spot to play around! These are a few of my fave relaxed portraits…
Afterwards, we headed further into Roundhay Park, a place I grew up next to when I was young.
(These bandstands made for excellent cider drinking spots on inclement Friday nights!)
This was probably my fave of the day! By the end I was happy that these two had relaxed into the process and were gonna be great on the big day on May 24th!
Stay tuned on the blog for their official wedding highlights, which’ll be live by the 26th!
