It was fab to be back shooting Autumnal wedding photography at Middleton Lodge Estate with Anne + Stuart on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales last weekend! 
Together no less than 12 years, this adorable pair finally decided to tie the knot by hiring entire place (which contains two amazing wedding spaces in a 200-acre privately owned estate) so they could rock two dramatically distinct vibes; an elegant ceremony in ‘The Main House’, awash with greens and whites, and a meal and party shenanigans in ‘The Fig House’ in the Walled Gardens, in an explosion of Autumn colour!

I always enjoy morning preparations to get into the vibe of a wedding, and I joined the bride and her besties for hair and makeup with champagne in the beautiful Oak Room, while my wingman Paul captured the groomsmen donning dinner jackets in the grand Billiard Room.
It was lovely how younger members of the family were involved; cousins doing readings and Stu’s 19-year-old son Elis taking on best man duties, bearing rings and smashing his speech. Anne was also given away by her nephew OJ (who had a lovely emotional moment during a bridal reveal, wearing Anne’s dad’s cufflinks and reminiscing about him).
The sweeping staircase, overflowing with Leafy Couture’s amazing florals, is the perfect dramatic space for a ceremony, accompanied by live piano. It was just lovely to see these two tie the knot before heading outside for congratulatory cuddles and my signature confetti bomb! Then after quick group pics and portraits around the autumnal grounds and some fun mingling with their entertaining guests, we headed over to the Fig House for a few super-orange seasonal portraits in the walled gardens (with Anne donning her fab matching Jesus Peiro bridal jacket).
It’s the first time I’ve seen ‘The Function Band‘ do their thing and WOW, what slick wedding entertainment! After a private track for Anne + Stu’s room reveal, they welcomed guests into the Autumnal wedding breakfast, performing from lit podiums – and had people dancing from the moment they arrived. Popping in between courses to stir the crowd into another dancing frenzy, they absolutely smashed it and had the floor bouncing from first till last dance!
All the suppliers brought such a classy game to this incredible wedding, knitted together supremely by Middleton Lodge’s coordinator Rhiannon and planner extraordinaire Lianne from Blonde Army. Days like this don’t just seamlessly fall together without these guys!

I love shooting weddings in Yorkshire and have been shooting wedding photos at Middleton Lodge and the Fig House since 2011! I love how the Allison family have imaginatively and lovingly renovated and expanded the scope of the place over the years into what it is today! The estate’s walled gardens, farmhouse and outbuildings (which are now home to two award-winning restaurants, a 30-bedroom hotel, two self-catered cottages and a forest spa) are simply exquisite!
