Yesterday I joined Amy & Mark for their big day at The Inn at Whitewell in Lancashire.
I hope you enjoy our the story of this special day!
The Inn at Whitewell is a beautiful gastropub in the rolling hills of Lancashire in the Forest Of Bowland. Nearby is the Trough Of Bowland, which in my opinion is the most beautiful drive in England.
While my second shooter & good buddy Tim Atkinson joined the boys for their preps, I caught up with the girls in their beautiful room overlooking the hills & stepping stones.
Here’s our relaxed bride & her girls reading a card from the hubby to be!
The beautiful Jenny Packham wedding gown!
Amy’s brother was sent to get a shot of gin to clean the engagement ring with. It’s apparently used to to bring out the sparkle!
Every day’s a school day!
Ace flora by Linda at The Flower Shop in Clitheroe
Meanwhile, the chaps turned up in Mark’s stepdad’s 911!
I liked marks subtly geeky binary tie; covered in 1’s and 0’s!
Looking good & ready to roll!
St Michael’s Church was literally adjacent to the Inn, and the entrance arch was just having the finishing flora touches added!
The Sladeburn Silver Brass Band were playing as guests arrived, and also played a few lovely songs during the service!
It’s all about the gin!
I like this wide angle scene showing all the goings on!
Such a lovely wedding gown!
With moments to spare, team bride assembled!
Love this little post-kiss moment!
CONFETTI BOMB!
Don’t they make a beautiful couple!
While guests headed off for afternoon drinks, we took a quick turn around the outlying Inn properties for a few relaxed portraits.
It helped no end that we’d done a practice shoot around the Inn at Whitewell a few months back. You can see their engagement practice shoot on the blog here.
After a few quick family lineups we had a bit of fun with the wedding party teamshots…
The wedding meal tables looked brilliant
I like the idea of a signing plank and chocolate moustache-on-a-stick favours!
After dinner speeches were lots of fun
The cutting of the delicious Betty’s fondant cake!
Fire pits were set out as the evening celebrations set in
And as the sun set Tim & I fired up our fun photobooth…
Then The Swing Commanders took over and got the gang doing some barn dancing!
Leaving the girls on the dancefloor and the the boys firing up a box of cuban cigars, we bid our farewell to the gang and hit the road.
What a lovely, relaxed wedding! Here’s wishing Mark & Amy many congratulations and a wonderful South African honeymoon! Enjoy the safari!
