Yesterday I joined Jessica + Matthew for their lovely wedding photos at Denton Hall in Ilkley – an exclusive country house wedding venue overlooking the Cow & Calf rocks in Wharfedale, in Yorkshire.
While my wingman Dan Pye joined Matt & his Dad/Best Man & mum at their family home in Bingley, I joined Jessica & the girls at her parents place in Baildon. Morning preparations were relaxed and impressively well organised (thanks to Jess & Mum being such brilliant planners!). Their wedding ceremony was at the pretty St John’s church in Baildon, presided over by their family friend Bishop Chris, and after a hail of confetti we headed over to Denton Hall for afternoon drinks and delicious nibbles by Box Tree Event’s Catering.
Now I’m familiar with this lovely family as over the past decade I’ve now photographed the weddings of no less than 4 couples from it! It was ace to see how they’re all getting on! I couldn’t believe they’ve created 10 kids between them! Though as this was a kid-free wedding, it was great to see everyone was able to let down their hair enjoy the drinks and afternoon sunshine!
The whole day went swimmingly, including a brilliant cake cut showered by confetti followed by a bouquet toss from the spiral staircase. I do love a wedding at Denton Hall and as it’s soon closing to become for a huge refurbish and rebrand into a swanky hotel, it’s sad that this’ll be the last wedding I shoot there for some time!
